WELCOME TO THE GREAT BARRIER REEF EDUCATION AND RESEARCH CENTRE FITZROY ISLAND
“The way we engage and relate to our natural environment is important to our wellbeing and the wellbeing of our world. Education and research is the key to unlocking our continued understanding of the many and complex issues that exist”
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to lead, educate and inspire the improvement, preservation and protection of the Great Barrier Reef and Tropical marine environment through education and positive behaviour change. We aim to foster passion and care for our marine and coastal environments through science education, research and community activities. We seek to understand how first nation people interacted and used the tropical marine environment.
